Kirk said director Joe Carnahan who stated Pine dropped out of his WHITE JAZZ movie with George Clooney in order to star as Kirk. HEROES---(spoiler) see below. RE-ANIMATOR---Jeffrey Combs said the sequel, HOUSE OF RE-ANIMATOR, probably won't be made due to its political plot in which the vice-president dies. A Karl Rove-like White House staffer brings in Jeffrey Combs' Re-Animator character to bring the vice-president back to life. Combs said, I wish I could give you a better prognosis...it's not even close to getting made. Too many people feel the heat, and studios are wary of the subject matter." The cast included William H. Macy and George Wendt (CHEERS) as the vice-president. CHANGELING---directed by Clint Eastwood and based on a true story in 1920s Los Angeles when a woman's young son is missing. The LAPD returns the child, but after the mother claims it's not her child, she's committed to a mental institution. She later protests to the city council resulting in the mayor, LAPD police chief and others being brought down. Angelina Jolie, John Malkovich and Colm Feore star. UNTRACEABLE---the FBI must quickly catch a serial killer who posts his graphic murders on a website. Diane Lane, Colin Hanks (Tom Hanks's son) star with Gregory Hoblit (DEADWOOD) as director. BENIGHTED---movie based on Kit Whitfield's novel about an alternate reality in which werewolves are 90% of the population and the minority normal humans must keep order during a full moon. A female police officer investigates a series of mysterious murders. HEROES---Zachary Quinto said in Season 2, about Sylar, "I want my power back...He'll align himself with the twins, Maya and Alejandro, and they'll go to New York to find Mohinder."

This sounds very similar to Showtime's Masters of Horror episode "Homecoming" where fallen soldiers of an unpopular war rise from the grave to vote for president. This is Joe (Babylon 5) Straczynski's project, originally set to be directed by Ron Howard. Clint is definitely a step up. A-List cast too. If this does well, JMS should be able to get more B5 projects and movies green-lit.

Looks like it's gonna be a case of a film filled with non-entities who cannot act very well and who are bland and faceless. Ohhh that'll put Classic Trek in line with all the other Trek series then! Wow, that's rather insulting to actors, who by your own admission you don't know and clearly you never seen their work. Now before PISSING ON THEM,perhaps a more reasonable approach would be to withhold judgement until you see the film? I've seen some of them in other projects and overall I think the cast has been spot on. The biggest assets would be the gentlman playing SPOCK who also plays SYLAR on HEROES, as far as I'm concerned that was great bit of casting. The other one being the gentleman was the star of "Shaun of The Dead" playing "Scotty"... As far as I'm concerned, that's just PERFECT. So far I'm looking for forward to seeing this film next year. You cast unknowns and they bitch, Yet, if they cast big name stars, they'd bitch about flash over substance. Need I remind anyone here that the only real "name" star in Classic Trek was William Shatner. And he still wasn't exactly a household name. Snore....

You've always been very good at the pot calling the kettle black... Greg, When you return to reality, Please provide a example of where I've pissed on a film without the benefit of having SEEN IT FIRST? You can do that can't you? Ford A. Thaxton

Yes, but strange that they chose someone who resembles Damon more than he resembles Shatner. It's as if they were so disappointed that Damon said no, they decided to try for a cut-rate Damon. Why are they even considering anyone with BLUE eyes to begin with? To me Kirk will always be Stephen Dorff. And also that Shatner guy.
